Parcours atypique que celui de Catherine Bernard, mais, en même temps, assez représentatif d’un vignoble languedocien qui a dû se réinventer pour exister. La journaliste, étrangère au métier comme à la région, répond à l’appel des vignes en 2005, devenant vigneronne sur quelques hectares à Castelnau-le-Lez, aux portes de Montpellier. Cette métamorphose a donné lieu à un livre : Dans les vignes. Chroniques d’une reconversion.

La cuvée La Route des Crêtes du domaine Catherine Bernard est issue de vignes de Grenache de Cinsault plantées sur la plaine au pied du Pic-Saint-Loup. Le nez de ce vin nous révèle de gourmandes notes de fruits noirs frais, de garrigue, de myrtilles, de violettes, de fraises des bois avec une pointe d'épices douces. La bouche est puissante et juteuse grâce à un joli équilibre entre saveurs fruitées, tannins présents mais fondus et finale minérale.
